About the RoleWe’re seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join a growing mission‑critical infrastructure team supporting large‑scale facilities across Maryland and the Mid‑Atlantic region. This role focuses on the testing, startup, and turnover of complex electrical systems for high‑security and high‑performance environments, including data centers, hospitals, and government facilities

You’ll play a key role ensuring that all power systems are installed, tested, and performing safely and efficiently — bridging the gap between design, construction, and operations
. The ideal candidate thrives in field environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and takes pride in delivering clean, validated systems that meet the highest technical standards.
- Execute functional performance testing and start‑up procedures for low and medium‑voltage electrical systems
- Review and validate engineering documentation, test scripts, MOPs/SOPs, and redlines
- Coordinate with construction teams, vendors, and OEM representatives during commissioning and turnover
- Perform field inspections, troubleshooting, and system validation to ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, and IEEE standards
- Lead testing of systems such as switch gear, relays, UPS, ATS/STS, PDUs, and VFDs
- Support systems integration for controls platforms including SCADA, PLC, EPMS, and BMS
- Track non‑conformance issues, manage resolutions, and contribute to project closeout documentation
- Provide hands‑on support during commissioning windows, which may include off‑shift or weekend work
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) with 7+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Proven background in mission‑critical commissioning, electrical construction, or power systems testing
- Working knowledge of low/medium‑voltage systems, protective relays, switch gear, and load bank testing
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E, NEC, IEEE, and NETA standards
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Primavera P6, and commissioning management tools (e.g., Infra Link or similar)
- Strong documentation, vendor coordination, and QA/QC skills
- Willingness to travel to project sites and adapt to flexible work schedules based on testing requirements
