Compensation & BenefitsHourly rates from $36.07 - $55.57 depending on experience. Primary PurposeThe primary responsibilities of this role are to act as an Operations Technician, operating and troubleshooting equipment and systems to support safe and reliable plant operations and maximize asset value.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities- Operate and monitor turbines, generators, pumps, scrubber plants, industrial wastewater treatment plants, boilers, motors, combustion turbines and associated auxiliary equipment.
- Use computerized maintenance management system to maintain and control work order system spare parts inventory.
- Lead equipment or system problem identification and recommend solutions.
- Perform predictive/preventive maintenance.
- Perform electrical maintenance on generators, transformers and MOVs.
- Troubleshoot plant equipment such as power and control circuits, heaters, motors and transformers using electrical test instruments.
- Develop operating procedures for plant equipment to ensure consistent and safe operation.
- Perform all work during an assigned shift in a safe, continuous and efficient manner while maintaining environmental and housekeeping standards within federal, state and local guidelines, following work management processes and equipment tag‑out procedures.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
The incumbent must communicate across all levels of the organization. A passing of the EEI TECH test and electrical blocking knowledge are required before performing this role.
Qualifications - Minimum- Associate’s degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics OR
- High school diploma with minimum 18 months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology
- Successfully completed the training requirements and time‑in‑job requirements for the position, including passing the EEI TECH test
- Electrical background
- Available for rotation schedule - night/day shift operations and overtime as needed
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Understanding of power plant prints
- Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle
- Ability to work in a power plant environment that includes climbing and walking long distances
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
