Position :
Program Specialist Pay Rate : $20.00 per hour
Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Part‑Time Program Specialist to join our team at YMCA Camp Letts. The Program Specialist will assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of various recreational and programs for camp guests, including youth camps, retreats, and team-building activities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with people, particularly in an outdoor setting, and will be committed to delivering high-quality experiences to all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead engaging activities and programs for camp groups of all ages.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of program equipment and activity spaces.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and risk management procedures.
- Work with the Program Manager to develop and enhance program offerings.
- Provide support for special events and group retreats as needed.
- Assist with the supervision and mentoring of camp staff and volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in recreational programming, outdoor education, or youth development is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A passion for working with children and groups in an outdoor environment.
- Must be available to work weekends and evenings as needed.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
