Chapelgate Christian Academy is seeking a Middle School and High School Band Teacher for the 2026-27 school year.
This is a part-time, exempt, salaried position for approximately 25 hours per week*.
The annual salary range in the part time role is $33,333 – $54,250, depending on years of teaching experience plus an additional $667 per year if you have a Master’s Degree.
This role is eligible for one week of sick time (equivalent to hours worked per week) and one day of personal leave.
There is also a 10% staff tuition discount for enrolled children of employees working 20-35 hours per week.
* There is potential for this to be a full-time position if experience includes directing orchestra and choral groups.

Chapelgate Christian Academy seeks a passionate, Christ-centered music educator to direct and develop our 6th–12th grade band programs.
The Band Director will nurture musical excellence while discipling students in faith and character, integrating Christian values into rehearsal, performance, and classroom teaching.
This teacher will direct ensembles for key school events, organize concerts and festivals, and collaborate closely with colleagues to enrich the school’s Fine Arts program.
Instructional Duties:
- Teach and direct middle school and high school band courses.
- Develop students’ technical, theoretical, and performance skills through engaging and differentiated instruction.
- Foster an environment that reflects both musical and spiritual growth.
Performance Duties:
- Organize and direct the annualChristmas Concertincluding both instrumental and vocal ensembles.
- Plan repertoire, rehearse, and conduct ensembles for theSpring Fine Arts Festival.
- Assist with music preparation and student participation for the annualSpring Musicalin collaboration with the theater director.
- Coordinate with accompanists, guest musicians, and supporting staff for performances and rehearsals.
- Assist Bible department with music performances at Chapel.
Program Development & Administration:
- Maintain an orderly music classroom and rehearsal environment that inspires creativity and discipline.
- Oversee care, use, and inventory of school instruments, sheet music, and equipment.
- Develop opportunities for student participation in regional honors ensembles, adjudications, and band/choir festivals as appropriate.
- Communicate with families regarding student progress, concert logistics, and program updates.
- Integrate Biblical principles into teaching, rehearsal, and performance.
- Model a Christ-centered life in and out of the classroom, supporting Chapelgate’s mission to educate students in both academic excellence and Christian character.
- Participate in faculty devotions, chapel, and broader school community life.
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field required;
Master’s preferred. - Proficiency on a primary instrument (typically woodwind, brass, or percussion) and strong working knowledge of all band instruments (ability to demonstrate and teach instrument-specific techniques and care).
- Strong proficiency in both instrumental conducting.
- Prior teaching experience with middle and/or high school students preferred.
- Ability to organize large performances and inspire student participation in Fine Arts activities.
- Commitment to Christian education and agreement with Chapelgate’s statement of faith.
- A heart for discipleship and ministry in a school environment.
- Strong communicator with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Team-oriented, flexible, and able to collaborate with the Fine Arts Department.
- Passionate about fostering student creativity while holding high standards of excellence.
