OverviewContinuing Education and Workforce Development at Cecil College is seeking a part-time instructor to teach Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint classes. Responsibilities include providing instruction on computer fundamentals, hardware, and software (including Microsoft Office programs and email) to adult learners.
Responsibilities- Instruct on the fundamentals of operating a computer
- Teach hardware basics (including keyboard and mouse)
- Instruct software use (internet browser navigation, Microsoft Office programs, and email)
- MS Excel: formatting, creating and maintaining tables and charts, functions, pivot tables, and working with multiple worksheets
- MS Word: developing themes, moving text, customizing headers/footers, applying styles, and adjusting margins
- MS PowerPoint: presentations, video integration, custom logos, themes, and advanced animation
- Other basic computer functions to improve students computer literacy
- Supervise and monitor students use of equipment; observe and evaluate progress, provide feedback, and suggest improvements
- Maintain attendance and administrative forms; administer assessments to measure progress and training effectiveness
- Other duties as assigned
- Proficient in MS Office with advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Adept at instructing adult learners at various skill levels
- Evening availability required
- Teaching experience highly preferred
Schedule:
2 evenings per week; 4-6 hours per week.
This position involves sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 10 pounds, plus walking and standing as needed to perform duties.
Work EnvironmentOffice or training-room settings with standard safety practices for using office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, and adhering to fire and building safety regulations.

Rate for the position: $36.25 per hour.
