Summary

The Office of Enrollment at Washington Adventist University is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to serve the Dual Enrollment/Transfer population. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with high school administrators, teachers and students to implement the program’s strategic plans and recruit students for the Dual Enrollment program. The role includes transferring credit information, referrals, and supporting transfer students through the transcript evaluation process, admission and registration.

Services are provided to transfer undergraduate students through admission and transition advising; coordination of on-campus activities with Admissions and Orientation offices; and advocacy assistance in facilitating connections to the campus community for articulation agreements. The position also serves veterans and international students with transfer evaluation and admission services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In addition to demonstrating full understanding of WAU academic requirements and policies, the successful candidate will:

Transfer Admissions Advisor Duties
  • Evaluate and articulate incoming transfer credits for first-time students.
  • Enter approved transfer credits to students' records in accordance with University policies; verify data accuracy.
  • Build relationships with advising representatives and students from WAU.
  • Coordinate Transfer Open House and recruitment activities with the academic/advising community to increase the transfer student population.
  • Provide transition assistance to incoming transfer students for admissions.
  • Implement and maximize technology and resources to maintain communication with prospective students.
  • Create and update communication plans to engage transfer prospects.
  • Provide in-person, phone and email service to current students with questions about transfer credits.
Dual Enrollment Coordinator Duties
  • Collaborate with WAU Admissions, Registrar, and ITS to ensure timely application processes for a seamless transition from Academy to University.
  • Work with high school administrators, teachers and students to implement the program’s strategic plans and recruit students for Dual Enrollment.
  • Develop partnerships within the local community to grow the Dual Enrollment program and travel extensively within the state as needed.
  • Schedule and organize registration days, visit schools to assist students with the application process, present dual enrollment information, maintain student records and market WAU for future applications.
  • Collect Dual enrollment registration and agreement forms, and transcripts from counselors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with college students in a university setting; excellent oral and written communication skills; knowledge of WAU admission policies; proficiency with office software, Radius CRM and Ellucian (Datatel).
  • Self-driven, with a commitment to distinctive excellence and meaningful student experiences.
  • Ability to provide clear direction and establish efficient priorities.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to multitask; able to work independently and with others in a university environment.
  • Experience fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so at WAU.
  • Experience in customer service with high school administrators, international and veteran populations.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish).
