SummaryThe Wilmington University School of Law seeks to fill up to four tenured or tenure‑track positions to teach primarily first and second year required bar-tested subjects, beginning in the academic year 2026–2027. The School welcomes applications from lawyers, judges, and faculty interested in serving as an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Law. These full‑time, tenure‑track or tenured positions emphasize excellence in teaching, research, and service, and support further development of the School of Law.
Immediate needs include Civil Procedure;
Contracts;
Constitutional Law;
Legal Writing;
Professional Responsibility;
Property;
Sales and Leases;
Torts; and Wills, Trusts and Estates. Candidates with expertise or interest in teaching multiple subjects are desired.

- Sufficient and high-quality practice experience as a foundation for teaching.

- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office.
- Knowledge of instruction strategies that meet objectives and enhance student learning.
- Completion of the online Wilmington University Teaching and Learning Training after hire.
- Teach up to five courses per academic year.
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring students’ professional development.
- Follow the School of Law’s instructional and curricular practices, including use of Canvas, tracking learning outcomes, assessing with multiple methods, and integrating research and writing modules.
- Foster an inclusive environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Dean of the School of Law.
Classes are scheduled Monday – Thursday from 9:00 am to 9:35 pm. Faculty should anticipate teaching during both day and evening programs as needed, maintain a flexible schedule, and be available for occasional weekends, graduation ceremonies, new student orientation, faculty and sub‑committee meetings, and Professional Development Day events.

- Completed teaching philosophy writing prompt (no more than 1.5 pages).
