Supply Planner

An exciting career as a Supply Planner in Hunt Valley, MD is available at Tessco! As part of Tessco’s Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for managing inventory required to meet customer demand. This role requires an understanding of customer requirements, collaboration with a wide variety of departments and external manufacturing partners. The successful candidate will have direct purchasing/supply planning experience, offer a high level of analytical capability, solid leadership skills and a commitment to delivering results.

• Plan and purchase inventory to meet service level and inventory goals
• Review service level misses to conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action to prevent further occurrences
• Maintain supply planning stocking strategy and system inputs (safety stock levels, lead-times, buying schemas, etc.)
• Schedule of inbound product shipments (incl. expediting, rescheduling and cancellation)
• Work collaboratively with all functional areas of the business:
  Sales, Marketing, Demand Planning, Finance, Sales Operations, and Logistics to solve problems and identify business improvement opportunities
• Maintain inventory balances across Tessco’s distribution network
• Negotiate and execute vendor returns as needed
• Serve as a discrepancy resolution escalation point for product, invoice or shipment discrepancies
• Develop supply chain metrics for supplier business reviews

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in business or related field or equivalent documented experience and skills
• Team-oriented, self-starter, and demonstrated leadership ability
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated problem solving skills & techniques
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
• Experience with an MRP software
• A desire to work in a fast paced, energetic atmosphere
• Experience in inventory management, logistics, or purchasing preferred
• May require 5% travel

Salary Range: $55,000 – $60,000
