WhatYou’ll Do
As the Professional Development Guru, you will be the organizational powerhouse behind our organization’s diverse array of course offerings, events, and meetings. You’ll manage the logistics, scheduling, and resources that bring our educational vision to life.
- Logistics Maestro: Coordinate and manage all the moving parts of our courses, events, and meetings – from scheduling facilities and trainers to ensuring all resources are available and ready.
- Growth Champion: Play a key role in developing and implementing innovative outreach strategies that significantly increase member and student enrollment in our professional development courses.
- Community Connector: Assist in efforts to maximize facility usage and event participation, ensuring our members are engaged and our resources are effectively utilized.
- Experience Architect: Guarantee a smooth, top-tier experience for all participants, from initial registration to post-event follow-up.
- Proven experience in coordination, event planning, or program management.
- Exceptional organizational skills and an eye for detail.
- A "people person" with stellar communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to travel occasionally travel in the DMV area to offsite locations for classes and events.

SUMMARYCoordinates professional development course offerings, events and meetings for the IEC Chesapeake Chapter. Assists in outreach efforts and resources that increase member and student enrollment in Professional Development courses, facility usage, and events.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinate professional development courses, events, facility usage, and meetings with staff, vendors, and contractors including scheduling, cost estimates, required equipment and supplies, timelines, catering, and other facility requirements.
- Coordinates with vendors and other partners to ensure accurate and professional setup and logistical flow of events, including notification to impacted areas throughout the facility.
- Manages relationships and scheduling for revenue and co-sponsored events and acts as the main interface related to agreements, supplemental fees (catering, rentals, and AV services as needed), processes, and procedures.
- Monitors event activities to ensure all requirements are met and clean-up/re-set is handled.
- Implements event planning and facility usage policies and procedures and follows those and other procedures and policies to ensure safety in all events.
- Aids other staff in their events.
- Maintains a system of record for all room utilization. Controls reservation process per requests from staff, educational partners and chapter members for the use of IECC facility. Responsible for opening/closing facility for the usages or coordinating with other staff when necessary.
