Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Nottingham, Maryland. This contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of receivable processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts receivable, billing, and reconciliation, and will thrive in a collaborative and detail-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Generate accounts receivable invoices for tuition, contract services, special functions, and other transactions.
- Monitor and reconcile receivables with issued invoices, maintain aging schedules, and follow up with agencies to ensure timely payments.
- Match gift donations recorded in the general ledger with batch reports from the Fundraising department to ensure accurate documentation.
- Process purchase orders across departments, including inventory orders, while maintaining proper records.
- Oversee storeroom inventory by recording supplies received and disbursed, performing physical inventory counts, and reconciling monthly stock levels.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of various general ledger receivables and liability accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Provide administrative support, including managing office supplies, researching financial data, handling mail operations, and maintaining secure documentation.
- Organize and maintain financial files systematically to ensure security and accessibility.
Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related financial role.
- Proficiency in accounts receivable processes, including collections and billing functions.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and Word for financial documentation and reporting.
- Familiarity with purchasing activities and managing vendor relationships.
- Ability to reconcile accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure data integrity.
- Capacity to perform physical tasks, such as lifting and moving packages, as part of inventory operations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with various departments and external agencies.
