Accountant - Baltimore, MD

About the Company and Accountant Opportunity:

• CFS is partnering with a repeat client to hire an Accountant on a contract to hire basis
• Schedule:
  
  Monday - Friday 8am-4pm, 80% in office in Baltimore, MD (Fridays remote).
• Reports to the Accounting Manager
• Salary: $60,000-$70,000 depending on experience

Job Duties for the Accountant:

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, credit cards, and intercompany accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow activity
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies
• Assist with audits and provide documentation as requested

Qualifications for the Accountant:

• 2+ years' general accounting experience required
• Associates or Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business or related preferred
• Experience using Sage 300 a plus but not required
• Proficiency with MS Excel (formulas, lookups, pivot tables)
• Strong GAAP knowledge, communication and interpersonal skills, great attention to detail, eager to learn
