Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative has an immediate opening for an Accounting Clerk 2nd Grade in Hughesville, Maryland. The primary functions of this position will be reviewing and analyzing financial accounts, processing fixed assets transactions, creating accounts receivable invoices, analyzing capital projects, and providing support for audit requirements. This position will also interact with customers via telephone, in person and in writing as required.
This position pays $32.13/hr.
This position requires a candidate who is an excellent communicator, organized, analytical, adheres to timelines, and a team player.
Responsibilities- Reviewing and analyzing financial accounts.
- Processing fixed assets transactions.
- Creating accounts receivable invoices.
- Analyzing capital projects.
- Providing support for audit requirements.
- Interacting with customers via telephone, in person and in writing as required.
- Two years of experience in basic principles of accounting are required.
- Proficient in Excel.
- A two-year degree in Accounting or a business discipline is preferred but not required.
