As a Supervisor, Respiratory you will lead the Respiratory Therapy Department, providing direct supervision, scheduling, and ensuring high‑quality patient care.

• Provides direct supervision of assignments and workflow daily for the Respiratory Therapy Department
• Develops department work schedule and call schedule
• Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate
• Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices
• Assists in the implementation of new policies and keeps employees abreast of new developments

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Practitioner Program, associate degree in Cardiopulmonary Science; preferred bachelor’s degree or desire to obtain this degree
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT)
• Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including Advanced Life Support
• AHA BLS Provider
• Ten years of general cardio‑pulmonary clinical experience;
  Three years of minimum supervisor or managerial experience
• Dual registries in the Cardiopulmonary specialty preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
• Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, eye and hand coordination
• Requires standing, walking, stooping, and stretching; occasionally lifts, carries, and pushes items weighing up to 100 lbs
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to the normal range
• Requires working under stressful conditions, extended shifts
