Overview
This full-time MRI Technologist position is based at Morgan Hospital. The hours are Wednesday–Friday 11a–7p and Saturday 6:30a–7p. In this role, you’ll join a team of two experienced technologists, performing MRI exams and partnering closely with the ED and oncology departments to support high‑quality patient care. Prior MRI experience is preferred. No holidays or call required. Sign-on bonus available for eligible applicants!
Responsibilities- Possesses knowledge of MRI safety and safety zones. Reviews patient history and screens for safety concerns (ferromagnetic objects, implanted devices, etc.).
- Educates patients on what to expect and ensures they are safe and comfortable during their scan.
- Obtains IV access, prepares and administers contrast, and is familiar with recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events.
- Possesses advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Adjusts scanning protocols to ensure diagnostic images.
- Ensures the MRI environment remains safe by screening all visitors and team members entering the MRI environment.
- Performs routine QC and ensures equipment is functioning properly.
- Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians. Documents necessary information in EMR.
- Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning. MRI experience is preferred.
- Advanced certification within 12 months of hire:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (RT(MR)) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) credentials as specified. - May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
- May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
