Position Overview: As a Patient Care Specialist – III of Ambulatory Services (PCS-III AMB), you are an active member of the multidisciplinary team, directly involved in providing quality care for patients in a transitional living addiction recovery environment. This position provides continuous patient care, monitoring, interaction, and role modeling and provides a safe, positive, supportive, and structured environment for patients enrolled in and/or entering ambulatory treatment.
PCS-III teammates take on a leadership role by mentoring PCS-I and PCS-II teammates, providing real-time coaching and guidance, and collaborating with department leaders to ensure frontline care practices align with organizational expectations, regulatory standards, and clinical best practices.

Qualifications:
Required- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar position in a behavioral healthcare setting.
- Intermediate knowledge of addiction and the recovery process.
- Good computer skills with general knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (including Outlook, Teams, and Word).
- Ability to mentor and train other teammates.
- Valid driver’s license in state of employment.
- CPR/MANDT certification – training provided locally and updated as required.
- Ability to travel up to 25% in local area.
- Associate degree in one of the behavioral science disciplines from an accredited college or university.
- Peer Support Certification identified by the state in which the facility operates, or addiction training certification as offered by the state in which the facility operates.
- Advanced knowledge of addiction treatment and the recovery process.
- Advanced technology skills including general knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Support patient engagement by modeling positive behaviors, encouraging program participation, applying motivational interviewing, and guiding individuals through program expectations with empathy, respect, and professionalism.
- Promote a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented environment by maintaining a calm presence, supporting recovery goals, and enforcing program rules consistently and respectfully.
