ADVANCED PRACTICE PROFESSIONALS - Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) - Cardiology, Nurse Practitioner (85001) or Physician Assistant (85101)

Minimum Qualifications and LicensingFor Nurse Practitioner (minimum qualifications):
- Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master's Degree in Nursing;
National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers;
Licensure, or eligibility for licensure, as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia; BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department. - Experience:
Acute care or cardiology experience preferred;
Eligible new graduates will be considered.
For Physician Assistant (minimum qualifications):
- Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
Bachelor’s Degree as a Medical/Surgical Physician Assistant;
Graduate of an ARC-PA approved PA training program;
Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants;
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the WV Board of Medicine; BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department. - Experience:
Acute care or cardiology experience preferred;
Eligible new graduates will be considered.
- For NP: ACNP preferred, but FNPs will be considered.
- For PA:
Masters level education as Medical/Surgical PA preferred.
