General PurposeThe Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers with eye contact, a smile, and courteous language, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows best‑practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate is engaged in all store functions as business needs require and may perform additional tasks when they help achieve our customer service and operational goals.
EssentialFunctions
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure environment, keeps egress clear, and immediately reports or corrects unsafe conditions.
- Treats all customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times.
- Assists customers in any way necessary—register‑trained, helps with merchandise, answers questions politely and knowledgeably, and greets all customers.
- Provides prompt and efficient responses to customer service calls and handles customer issues courteously, calling store leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas.
- Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery per best practice to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
- Expedites newly received merchandise to the floor with a sense of urgency, merchandises items per monthly guidelines, and maintains brand familiarity.
- Understands loss prevention, short‑age highway, store protection specialists, and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrates integrity, safeguards confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follows mark‑out–of‑stock policies, processes disposals, and notifies leadership for approvals.
- Follows cash, check, charge card, refund, void, and offline procedures, maintaining accuracy with bankable tenders.

- Effectively communicate with customers, Associates, and leadership in a friendly, respectful, and pleasant manner.
- Can perform basic mathematical calculations common in retail environments.
- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC.
- Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
- Bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Possibly required additional qualifications for certain assignments.
- For stockroom shifts: push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
