Assistant Facilities Manager

Partner with the Employment and Human Services Department to provide resources that support, protect, and empower individuals and families to achieve self‑sufficiency. This role is based in the Internal Operation Bureau of Contra Costa County. Responsibilities
  • Accurately apply building systems knowledge to problem solving
  • Apply Community Care Licensing Regulations to find solutions
  • Evaluate situations then create, complete and assign tasks as appropriate
  • Plan, implement, manage, and report on projects
  • Assist staff and multitask as needed
  • Utilize components of building code, ADA, CAL‑OSHA and other regulations when providing recommendations
  • Coordinate outside vendors and various departments with current operations
  • Plan and respond to emergency events

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s license (out‑of‑state licenses accepted during application)
  • Three (3) years of full‑time experience coordinating facilities operations or construction projects in a commercial, industrial, or public agency
  • One (1) year of which must be in a supervisory capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Industrial Technology, Facilities Management or a closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of required experience (no substitution for required supervisory experience)
Additional Requirements
  • Two (2) additional years of full‑time experience coordinating facilities operations, safety measures, and construction projects in a childcare setting, school, or educational system regulated by local, state, and/or federal child development programs
