Custodian II

Contra Costa County Public Works Department (CCCPWD) is recruiting for the position of Custodian II in its Custodian/Recycle Services Division. The Custodian II ensures the cleanliness and functionality of county‑owned and leased buildings across Contra Costa County.

• Clean office areas, restrooms, and other facilities; stock cleaning supplies; take out trash and recyclables.
• Arrive on time and ready to work as scheduled.
• Follow Department and County policies and perform job duties as directed.
• Attend safety meetings and work safely.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, custodial leads, supervisors, and managers.
• Complete routine inspection forms.
• Order cleaning supplies and maintain custodial work area.

• One (1) year of full‑time custodial maintenance experience in a commercial, industrial or public agency setting.
• Valid California motor vehicle operator’s license (out‑of‑state license accepted).
• Background investigation clearance.
• Basic floor‑machine operation knowledge (buffing, stripping, waxing) is desirable.
• Experience with carpet cleaning tools (steam, hot water extractor, rotary shampoo) is desirable.
• Strong customer‑focus and safety‑conscious attitude.
