Special Education In-Person Tutor

Overview

Tutor Me Education is seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in CA. This role focuses on supporting students with special needs, delivering tailored instruction based on each student’s IEP, and helping them achieve academic success.

  In-person tutoring in CA
• Pay: $25.00/hr - $35.00/hr
• Schedule:
  
  Before & after school hours or weekends (approx. 10–20 hours per month)

• Conduct engaging 1:1 tutoring sessions for students with special education needs
• Develop personalized lesson plans and strategies aligned with each student’s IEP
• Adapt materials, assessments, and teaching methods to fit individual learning styles
• Track and document student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and special education teams for a cohesive learning experience
• Maintain open communication with parents/guardians about student progress
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment supporting emotional and behavioral growth
• Stay up to date on best practices in special education and incorporate them into lessons

• Must be able to commute in-person
• Experience working with students with special needs and accommodations preferred
• Must be enrolled in college or have completed an AA, BA or higher
• Ability to make learning fun, interactive, and student-focused
• Ability to pass an in-person background check (if required)

• Ability to commute to/from Vallejo, CA (REQUIRED)
• Must clear FBI-DOJ background check (in-person)
• Previous tutoring/teaching experience highly preferred
• Ability to make learning fun and interactive, guided by student questions
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting
• Negative TB test result
