Overview
This position serves as a campus-wide subject matter expert in payroll policy, DASH HCM processes, and related compliance areas providing advanced guidance on complex and multifaceted inquiries. The role is responsible for investigating and resolving payroll issues, managing garnishments, recommending process improvements, and ensuring adherence to legal and institutional requirements. It includes oversight of timecard and employment documentation approvals, coordination of payroll advances, and leadership in training/advising campus departments on payroll and HCM procedures.
Additionally, the role supports other HR generalist functions including benefits and compensation approvals, and contributes to broader HR initiatives through committee service and other duties as assigned.
- Conduct in-depth investigations into complex payroll and employee leave issues, collaborating with departments and UT System HR to identify root causes and implement resolutions.
- Manage and review garnishment processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws and institutional policies.
- Evaluate and recommend process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
- Review and approve time cards and employment documentation in accordance with legal requirements and institutional guidelines.
- Coordinate payroll advance requests, including failure analysis, calculation of accounts payable, approval routing and follow-up.
- Serve as training resource for campus departments on payroll policies and associated DASH procedures to ensure compliance.
- Process biweekly and monthly payroll for all company locations using ORACLE.
- Review and approve employment related documentation in compliance with institutional policy and legal requirements including updates to employee records.
- Reconciles payroll records, including payments, deductions and general ledger entries for wages.
- Runs various reports as needed to support fully compliant payroll entries.
- Support internal and external audits by providing payroll records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Associate's Degree in relevant field and 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred.
