ALL ABOUT SERVICE & ENGAGEMENT - Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Advocates of both in-store and digital services and solutions who are knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption and guest loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.

  • Communicating and interacting with guests to build a welcoming guest experience
  • Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns

  • Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services

As a Guest Advocate, responsibilities typically include:

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks
  • Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs
  • Make guests aware of current promos, store activities and events
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the store to solve issues and improve guest experience
  • Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target
  • Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with enrollment as needed
  • Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with safety standards and company best practices
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
  • Explain features and offerings within the Target App, including Wallet
  • Be familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering and guide guests to enroll, activate and use these features
  • Assist with returns following store policies and escalate as needed
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and stock supplies during store hours
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • Work safely at all times; follow safety policies and training; report hazards
  • Support guest services such as Order Pick Up, Drive-Up orders and returns with compliance to laws
  • All other duties based on business needs

Basic expectations and conditions:

  • Accurately handle checkout operations and support cash office tasks as needed
  • Scan, handle and move merchandise safely; may lift up to 44 pounds with or without assistance
  • Flexible schedule with reliable attendance
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a shift
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and other elements while performing duties
