American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13‑week Cardiac Telemetry/IMC travel assignment in Wisconsin, requiring at least 2 years of experience with post‑procedural cath lab and cardiac surgical patients.
Responsibilities- Work setting is an acute care, Level II Trauma hospital on a 29‑bed Intermediate Care/Telemetry unit specializing in cardiac medical and surgical patients.
- Patient population includes post‑cath lab patients (stent, pacemaker, ICD, Watchman, Mitra Clip, TAVR), post‑cardiac surgery (CABG, valve replacements), Afib, chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, syncope, and bradycardia with temporary pacemaker.
- RNs are required to titrate drips including Nitroglycerin, Heparin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Bumex, and Dobutamine (no vasopressors).
- Charting is done in Cerner (transitioning to Epic).
- 12‑hour night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required.
- Floating to other units may be required based on census.
- No on‑call or standby requirement outside of voluntary extra shifts.
- Block scheduling is used based on unit needs; a Fri/Sat/Sun option is available.
- Responsibilities include titrating cardiac drips, managing post‑procedural and post‑surgical cardiac patients, and performing incentive spirometry (nebulares, inhalers, CPAP, BiPAP, and Vapotherm are managed by 24/7 Respiratory Therapy).
- Charge RN takes a modified patient assignment.
- Orientation consists of 1 shift of HR onboarding and 1 shift on the unit.
- No scrubs are provided and no specific scrub color is required.
- Candidates who previously worked for this health system as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their consideration date, and hospital approval is required.
- Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local, which affects the travel pay rate.
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license (must be active by start date).
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (both AHA required).
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
- Experience with post‑procedural cath lab patients required.
- Experience managing TR band compression devices and chest pain required.
- Experience with post‑cardiac surgical patients required.
- Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years of relevant experience.
