Job Description:

Marshfield Medical Center is seeking a Urology Surgical Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Marshfield, Wisconsin
. The Surgical Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner, is a skilled member of the allied health care team who is qualified both academically and clinically to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients, working collaboratively with Board Certified Urologists. The Surgical Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner works within a cooperative unit of four established APP colleagues, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.

Position

Details

Perform clinical procedures with the ability to assist in surgeries and develop robotic skills. Candidates interested in Pediatrics will have the opportunity to be mentored within the department.

New candidates will be onboarded through an extended training process to help affirm and expand the skill sets necessary for Urology.

In this role, you will join the largest urology group within MCHS along with the possibility of a flexible schedule of four 10-hour days should you wish. Rotating call will be 1:5.

Job Qualifications
  • For Nurse Practitioners – Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from an accredited nurse practitioner program by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice.
  • For Physician Assistants – Master’s or Baccalaureate degree. Successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors. Successful completion of the national certifying examination and current certification given by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
  • Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).
