JOB SUMMARY
The Surgical Nurse Practitioner provides patient services under the supervision of a licensed physician, according to Nurse Practitioner Protocol, and within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner License in the State of Wisconsin. The Surgical Nurse Practitioner ensures continuity between clinical practice and standards of care as well as promotes and aids in patient preparation for discharge. This individual works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other health care disciplines utilizing a team approach to healthcare.
JOBQUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Master's Degree in Nursing.

EXPERIENCEMinimum
Required:
None
Preferred/Optional: One to two years' nursing experience in specialty.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESThe following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum
Required:
Current State of Wisconsin Nurse License or Nurse Compact License, and Nurse Practitioner Licensure. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
