Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced IR Technologist with ARRT certification and at least 2 years of interventional radiology experience for an acute care Level 2 Trauma setting.

Responsibilities
  • Work in an acute care setting in a department equipped with 7 procedure rooms, including 4 Cath Lab/EP and 3 IR/Vascular suites
  • Daily caseload involves a variety of IR and vascular cases, averaging over 20 procedures across all rooms
  • Common procedures include port placements, liver biopsy, IVC placements, g-tube placements, PICC and central line placements, neuro procedures (coiling, thrombectomy, embolizations), femoral-popliteal bypass, AAA repair, carotid interventions, EVAR, and angioplasties
  • Shifts are Monday through Friday with options for 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) or 5x8-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM); on-call shifts are 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
  • Call rotation is required approximately every third weekday and third weekend, with a 30-minute response time and possible holiday call
  • Hybrid floating to vascular cases may be required
  • Uses Cerner EMR (transitioning to Epic) and Siemens and Merge equipment
  • Scrubs provided, and staff may wear their own scrub caps
  • Primary duties include preparing procedure suites, ensuring radiation safety, calibrating and troubleshooting equipment, scrubbing in and assisting with device exchange, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, sheath removals, and managing sterile setup and room turnover
  • Team structure includes 1 RN and 2 Techs in IR, and anesthesia support for neuro cases
  • Initial orientation includes 2-3 days of training and shadowing, with a buddy system for call duties during the second week
  • All clinicians must clock in and out
  • Local candidates within 80 miles are eligible but will receive a reduced rate
  • May be required to participate in holiday call coverage
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in interventional radiology
  • Active ARRT certification required
  • ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
  • Experience with Cerner EMR and Siemens equipment preferred
  • License required if applicable
  • Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the past 12 months, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years
  • Candidates who have worked as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
