The Health Unit Coordinator/Certified Nursing Assistant Float is a combined role performing duties in multiple departments on a routine “fill-in” basis. The individual works under the supervision of physicians or registered nurses to coordinate admissions, transfers, discharges, provide patient/family care plans, facilitate communication among the healthcare team, support unit operations, and complete delegated direct patient care activities.

Variable shifts including weekend and holiday rotations, with a scheduled 24‑hour weekly shift.

• Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) diploma.
• Experience: Minimum experience as a Health Unit Coordinator or a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Preferred experience as both a Health Unit Coordinator and a CNA.
• Certifications / Licenses: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification awarded by the State of Wisconsin. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Preferred BLS at time of hire.
