Job Description:

# JOB SUMMARY The Pre-Service Coordinator secures scheduled encounters by verifying insurance, identifying and completing payer authorization requirements, and creating, communicating and collecting on estimated patient liabilities pre-service. This individual is responsible for verifying insurance details, documenting insurance benefits, producing price estimates, and communicating with patients regarding pre-registration and collection items.# JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
* For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational
** qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
*** Minimum

Required:

** Successful completion of a diagnosis, current procedural terminology (CPT) and medical terminology courses, per departmental procedures, within one year of hire.# Preferred/Optional:
None.
** EXPERIENCE
* *** Minimum

Required:

** Three years’ experience in a medical business office or health care setting involving customer service or patient-facing responsibilities, or equivalent experience.
** Preferred/Optional:
** Successful completion of post-secondary courses in Medical Terminology and Diagnosis and CPT Coding.# CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
