Job Description:

## JOB SUMMARY The Ultrasonographer performs diagnostic OB/GYN, abdominal and other ultrasound exams. Completes exam analysis and preparation for Radiologist’s review and interpretation.
** JOB QUALIFICATIONS**## EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
* For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
*** Minimum

Required:

** Successful completion of an Ultrasound internship or formal training program
* or* possess an Ultrasound Credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) accrediting bodies.
** Preferred/Optional:
** Associate's degree in a related field and a graduate of a CAAHEP accredited sonography program.## CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
* The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.  Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
*** Minimum

Required:

*** ARDMS in at least one of the following areas or (or registry eligible) in the areas of abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN), or vascular technology (RVT) for registry eligible, one must be completed within 9 months of employment.
* ARDMS Certification in Abdomen and OB/GYN must also be completed within 24 months of hire.
* If working in a department performing breast ultrasound, you must complete American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Breast certification or ARRT Breast Sonography (BS) credential within 24 months of hire.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association and Red Cross within three months’ of employment.
** Preferred/Optional:
*** ARDMS or ARRT certified in Sonography
