Pharmacist- Iowa Veterans

Job Description

The Iowa Veterans Home is looking to fill a Pharmacist to assist the state.

• Dispense medications independently in all required areas of pharmacy (computer input, filling and checking orders, compounding, IV preparation, answering telephones).
• Provide medication information to appropriate disciplines.
• Assist in leading technicians and answer procedural or medication‑related questions.
• Perform any training as necessary for technicians when requested.
• Represent pharmacy on various committees.
• Conduct Med Regimen Reviews; review all assigned residents’ profiles every 30-31 days, recommend appropriate changes to nursing staff or providers, and document findings in the Medical Record System.
• Complete annual reviews and quarterly unit inspections.
• Participate in the Pharmacist On‑Call rotation.

• Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• State of Iowa Board of Pharmacy License.
