Job Description
The Iowa Veterans Home is now accepting applications for a part‑time evening shift Resident Aide in our Fox building working 2p‑10:30p. Applicant will work 5 shifts in a pay period.
Duties Include- Provides support to residents by participating/initiating additional activities such as playing cards, table games, reading, crafts, writing letters for residents and visiting.
- Provides general housekeeping duties such as stocking of supplies, making coffee, delivering mail, cleaning fridge/microwave in galley and staff break room, and checking dryer lint trap.
- Provides orientation to residents upon admission including location of linen room, laundry, trash room, I’m OK program and other details to make their transition to IVH successful. Assists with unpacking personal items, marking of clothing and other assistance as needed. Assists with packing and moving residents as appropriate.
- Participates in monthly/quarterly room inspections. Assists with follow up of items not in compliance.
- May accompany residents to appointments internally and externally.
Other Duties as assigned.
