SummaryThe Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Instructor is a full‑time position located in the Marshalltown Campus and is responsible for teaching Nurse Aide courses and ensuring program compliance across all CNA offerings within IVCCD. The role oversees all CNA testing—both computer‑based and skills—and maintains accurate course and testing records.
Day The CNA Instructor collaborates with the Health Education Coordinator to guarantee quality instruction, regulatory compliance, program integrity, curriculum development, clinical coordination, and continuous improvement of the Nurse Aide program to meet state standards and local workforce needs. Travel to Ellsworth Community College and Iowa Valley Grinnell is required.
- Teach Nurse Aide courses in accordance with DIAL objectives, oversee and coordinate all CNA testing (computer‑based and skills) for IVCCD, maintain accurate records,Heart verify student prerequisites via Castle Branch, and ensure compliance with state guidelines and regulations.
- Maintain accurate inventories of equipment and supplies, submit requisitions, report repairs, stay current with field trends, integrate updates into curriculum and instructional practice, and substitute for other instructors or teach related health trainings and short‑notice classes as needed.
- Develop and maintain current course syllabi and outlines, utilize a variety of instructional methods and technologies, organize, assign, and supervise CNA clinical experiences at approved long‑term care facilities, and participate in scheduled staff meetings and state‑sponsored Nurse Aide program meetings.
- Meet all assigned classes and office commitments, serve on appointed committees, maintain regular and consistent attendance, maintain professional appearance, and be willing to flex the schedule as needed.
- Communicate professionally with others in a timely manner Dowladda to benefit student learning.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the district.
Graduate of an approved School of Nursing with active RN licensure in Iowa or a compact state (or ability to obtain). Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse. At least 1 year of full‑time employment in long‑term care strongly preferred but not required. Teaching or training experience preferred. Registered Nurse in Iowa or a compact state or the ability to obtain one.
CPR and dependent adult and child abuse certified.

Base Wage: $44,825–$59,767 annually (actual salary will be based on experience and education).
