Job Description
The Import Compliance Analyst is a highly tactical role responsible for ensuring all imported goods comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This position requires an action‑oriented professional with exceptional problem‑solving skills and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:- Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor and enforce compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, and other import requirements.
- Maintain accurate import documentation and ensure timely filing of customs entries.
- Operational Execution
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to resolve import issues quickly and effectively.
- Track shipments and proactively address delays or compliance risks.
- Risk Management
- Identify potential compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct audits of import transactions to ensure accuracy and adherence to company standards.
- Process Improvement
- Recommend and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce compliance risks.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- You ask the right questions to accurately analyze situations. You quickly and decisively take actions in fact‑changing, unpredictable situations.
- You deal constructively with problems that do not have clear solutions or outcomes. You understand that different situations may call for different approaches.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- Highly action‑oriented with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks under tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities to meet organizational and individual goals.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Experience in import compliance, customs brokerage, or trade operations preferred.
- Knowledge of import/export documentation and customs clearance processes helpful.
