RN - Behavioral Health

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients using critical thinking and independent judgment across all phases of the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse is responsible for directing and supervising the nursing patient care team, which typically consists of Certified Nursing Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses.

• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments; develop and update plans of care in collaboration with patients.
• Provide and direct nursing care while evaluating outcomes.
• Assist in collecting vital signs, reviewing lab results, and other physical assessments as requested for patient care.
• Utilize technology appropriately and follow safety and infection prevention standards.
• Educate patients and family members and document accordingly.
• Engage in self-assessment, peer review, and complete mandatory education and competency assessments.
• Participate in unit-based performance improvement activities and support changes.

• 1 year of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience - REQUIRED
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross - REQUIRED
• Michigan State License
