Radiology Technologist - Specialty Clinic- Casual - Requisition

All CDC recommended vaccines are required vaccinations sonally, and upon determination of Senior leadership, the Influenza Vaccine may be mandatory; in those years, compliance is required. For all vaccines, Religious Exemptions and Medical Contraindications are available.

Job Summary: Provides basic patient care services under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner. Performs various clerical and administrative duties under the direction of the Site Manager. Assists with office procedures as. Maintains equipment and supplies as directed. Operates various office and medical equipment, as necessary. Answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, filing, copying, collection of payments, update patient demographics, assisting physician, patient assessments, telephone phone triage, prescriptions, and office procedures.

Provides radiological examines for patients.

Essential Functions:

• Answering phones and Scheduling patient appointments.
• Filing, copying and collection of payments.
• Assisting physician with patient assessments, telephone triage and prescriptions.
• Performs radiological testing according to Department procedures.
• Proficient in use of all radiological equipment.
• Reviews and evaluates digital x-rays, video tape, or computer generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
• Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
• Explains procedures and observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
• Operates or oversees operation of radiological equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
• Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table.
• Positions imaging equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
• Keys commands and data into computer to document and specify scan sequences, adjust transmitters and receivers, or photograph certain images.
• Monitors video display of area being scanned and adjusts density or contrast to improve picture quality.
• Monitors patients' conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physician.
• Sets up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready.
• Prepares and administers oral or injected contrast media to patients.
• Takes thorough and accurate patient medical histories.
• Records, processes and maintains patient data and treatment records, and prepare reports.

Minimum Qualifications: Associates Degree in X-ray Technology. Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), and certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Successful completion of registration or certification in an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. Experience in a medical office or similar setting preferred. Knowledge of radiological equipment and techniques, radiation safety, anatomy/physiology and disease process and quality control in a Radiological setting. Demonstrated knowledge of computers, insurance, and medical terminology preferred. Experience using Athena and EHR preferred. PCMH experience a plus.

Answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, filing, copying, collection of payments, update patient demographics, assisting physician, patient assessments, telephone phone triage, prescriptions, and office procedures. Must demonstrate competency in administration of all contrast media and barium. If cross-trained in CT must also demonstrate competency in administration of radioactive tracers and pharmacological stress agents. Incumbent should be skilled in interpersonal relationships, monitoring patient responses, assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands and operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.

Some incumbents in this job class may be required to obtain additional specific technical certifications.

Working Conditions: Potentially exposed to infectious diseases.

Physical Requirements: Constantly stand, see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, talk/hear, taste/smell. Frequently sit, walk, reach, push/pull, bend/twist, stoop/kneel/crouch. Occasionally lift/carry 1 to 50+ lbs.
