Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing professional dental cleanings, assessments, and preventive treatments. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health for patients of all ages, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience in a fast-paced, friendly environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, energetic, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.
Responsibilities- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor treatment plans.
- Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to proper aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies.
- Support infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments, managing dental supplies, and ensuring a sterile environment at all times.
- Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic setting.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles for treating children effectively and compassionately.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, medical coding, documentation review, and medical records management.
- Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and dental assisting procedures.
- Experience with general dentistry procedures including patient care, patient assessment, and chairside assisting is essential.
- Certification in dental hygiene from an accredited program; licensure compliant with state regulations is required.
