• Provides care for hospitalized patients throughout the hospital stay, including emergency evaluation and triage, admission, and formulation of a comprehensive care plan aligned with up-to-date evidence-based protocols.
• Admits patients to the hospital for primary care physicians on an as-needed basis.
• Provides primary and consultative medical care to patients admitted to various units with appropriate subspecialty consultation.
• Coordinates care through collaboration with other physicians, nursing staff, case managers and ancillary service providers.
• Keeps patients informed and provides periodic updates as appropriate.
• Participates in the hospital's utilization management, risk management and performance improvement programs.

• Experience:
  
  2 years of practice as a Hospitalist preferred.
• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study required;
  Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required.
• Licenses and
  
  Certifications:
  
  Current license issued by LA State Board of Medical Examiners.
