The Preventative Maintenance Mechanic I performs scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on a variety of systems with a special focus on plumbing systems and components.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesSkills and Abilities
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
- One year of relevant experience
KNOWLEDGE OF OPERATIONS & PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE OF:
- Heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment including boilers, steam generators, steam traps, air handlers, terminal units, air conditioning units, exhaust fans, dampers, motors and actuators
- Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
- Cooling and heating water treatment equipment. Cooling towers, water lines, steam systems, pneumatics, fluid uses and levels, belts, tensioners, filters, and shaft alignment
- Swimming pool filtration equipment, systems and chemical treatment
- Common federal, state and local codes and regulations pertaining to preventive maintenance of systems and equipment
- Occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades, such as lock‑out tag‑out fall protection and use of personal protective equipment.
ABILITY TO:
- Operate basic computer programs used in tracking and executing preventive maintenance work
