More About Our Team

Cardiac department has 36 beds. Patient population and diagnosis includes Cardiac and CVA patients. Post‑op day 1‑2 CABG, pacemaker patients, bradycardia, tachycardia, SVT, AFIB w/ RVR or new a fib, acute MIs, PCI patients, fem/fem bypass, CEAs and more. We also do step‑down (IMCU) patients. Nurses are exposed to more critical patients, making it a good bridge to departments such as ED and ICU.

How

You Will Contribute
  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

What We Are Looking For

Applicants should have a state of Michigan RN license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor’s degree preferred).

Additional Requirements Include
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP)
  • Cross Trained to IMCU (within 1 year)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) (within 1 year)
