The Lighting Technician maintains and repairs lighting equipment and systems, and is part of our Maintenance department. • Maintain and repair lighting equipment and systems.
• Investigate lighting problems, accurately determine operational status of lighting equipment and take appropriate action to restore system operation.
• Perform repairs to lighting distribution panels, breakers and/or fuse panels, switches, interior and exterior lighting fixtures, and ballasts.
• Perform maintenance of lighting systems in accordance with established schedules and standards.
• Use the tools and instruments appropriate to the electrician’s craft for the repair, testing, and modification of lighting equipment.
• Read, interpret, and use electrical blueprints, specifications, manufacturer’s manuals, catalogs, and other technical literature.
• Ordering and receiving of materials.
• Supervise and coordinate the tasks of student workers.
• Prepare and maintain logs and records for lighting equipment and systems.
• Keep equipment locations and shop areas clean and orderly.

A high school diploma is required.

Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Three years of maintenance experience in lighting systems or general maintenance is required.

Certification in electrical maintenance from a technical school is desired.
