A Exercise Physiologistwho excels in this role:

• Recognizes, manages, and rehabilitates patients
• Assumes the ongoing implementation and organization of the cardiac rehabilitation program
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
• Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization
• Collaborates and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives
• Assists with monitoring staffing activities, including orienting, evaluating, and continuing education initiatives
• Ensures that the department operates within compliance. Coordinates internal/external audits
• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth
• Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science required
• Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology preferred
• Licenses: ACSM preferred
• Certifications:
  
  Basic Life Support (BLS)
