Description:
Provides leadership, management and serves as a liaison between the various departments and clinics that constitute the operations of Professional Cardiology/Professional Cardiovascular Surgery. Facilitates communication and coordinates operational activities between physicians and hospital leadership. Plans, coordinates, directs and supervises the Professional Cardiology and Professional Cardiovascular Surgery offices.
Responsibilities
Maintains established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environment of care, management of information, and infection control standards.Selects, trains/orients, and assigns department staff (as delegated by director). Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.Assists with the development of department goals and objectives, establishment and implementation of policies and procedures for department operations.Initiates the development of department operating budget and ensuring that department operates within budget.Responsible for monitoring, and reporting key practice performance metrics, maintaining performance of key indicators within prescribed ranges.Leads the development and implementation of the performance improvement program for Cardiology/Cardiovascular practice operations.Assures compliance with federal and state law and accrediting and licensing agencies as appropriate to department.Integrates departmental services with the organization’s primary functions.Ensures and role models the delivery of excellent customer service.Develops and implements the utilization review, quality assessment and improvement programs for Cardiology/Cardiovascular practice operations. Assists in ongoing benchmarking of practice and providers.Assumes the responsibility and authority for supervising, evaluating, developing and maintaining practice operations in Cardiology/Cardiovascular areas.Promotes multidisciplinary approach to Cardiology/Cardiovascular development through strategic planning, operational management and evaluation.Acts as a liaison between other services/departments that support Cardiology/Cardiovascular operations.Monitors and analyzes the Cardiology/Cardiovascular practice financial performance and provides recommendations on appropriate operations targets/benchmarks.Collaborates with other service line leaders to develop strategies to enhance staff development, improve recruiting/retaining of essential staff, and improve overall coordination of care delivery thereby elevating the overall clinical quality and patient experience in the delivery of world class Heart and Vascular Care.Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and professional conferences.Participates and attends meetings and in services as required and/or assigned.Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.Position Qualifications
· Registered Nurse with Bachelor’s degree (BSN or Business) with 5 yrs clinical cardiology experience and 2 or more years of management experience in an office practice setting.
· OR:
Other clinical background with a similar combination of education and experience
· Experience in office management and the ability to implement related procedures
· Advanced education may be substituted for some experience
Preferred Experience · Experience in a Cardiology or CV Surgery Practice managerial position
