Position Summary

Six appointment openings are available at the following institutions:

  • Bay College in Escanaba, MI
  • Delta College in University Center, MI
  • Glen Oaks Community College in Centreville, MI
  • Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, MI
  • Muskegon Community College in Muskegon, MI
  • Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac, MI

Instructional responsibilities include teaching PLP 105L – Fundamentals of Applied Plant Pathology Lab (1 credit) for the Institute of Agricultural Technology during the spring semester. Course dates:
January 12, 2026 – April 26, 2026. The class meets weekly, face‑to‑face for 1 hour and 50 minutes. The appointment will recur every other spring semester in even years.

Course Description

Identification of disease signs and symptoms in major agronomic and horticulture plants; disease management techniques.

Course Objectives
  • Become familiar with signs and symptoms of plant pathogens and diseases
  • Understand the life cycles of plant pathogens
  • Learn symptoms of common diseases present in Michigan
  • Learn basic concepts of disease management

Required Degree

Master’s in Plant Pathology or related field.

Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in plant pathology or related field.
  • Experience in development and assessment of learning outcomes.
  • Undergraduate teaching experience and a passion for teaching.
