The rounding physician is responsible for seeing all the patients in the hospital that are admitted under the employed attending.
They cover the inpatients between 7am and 7pm, including daytime admissions and consults.
There are no hospital responsibilities at night for the general pediatric/adult inpatient faculty members. The 7pm to 7am consults/admissions are handled by the night hospitalists.
The family medicine OB provider is responsible seeing patients and for resident education/supervision of triage, management of labor, medical management of OB patients on the OB floor, and delivery.
Daytime coverage is from 7am to 5pm. Night call begins at 5pm and goes through 7am. Call is 1 in 6 through partnership with the employed family medicine group, and the OB/GYNs.
