Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology

Required Skills:

• Valid MI medical license
• Board-certified or eligible in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology
• Proven experience with endoscopic procedures, including EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP/EUS, PEG/PEG-J placement, proton pump, and pH studies
• Ability to independently manage patient cases, review pathology, and communicate effectively with nursing staff
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous charting capabilities
• Familiarity with electronic medical records such as Cerner, gGastro, or Athena
• Ability to work scheduled hours, including day shifts and overnight call shifts

Nice to Have

Skills:

• Experience with capsule endoscopy, manometry, sigmoidoscopy, hydrogen breath testing
• Prior experience in a high-volume endoscopy unit
• Willingness and ability to perform ERCP or EUS procedures
• Bilingual abilities or additional language skills

Preferred

Education and Experience:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Completion of an internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship
• At least 2 years of clinical gastroenterology practice in a hospital setting

Other Requirements:

• Availability for full coverage on scheduled dates
• All hours, including OT and on-call, logged prior to submission
• Ability to work independently without scribe or assistant support
• Immediate credentialing and billing enrollment processing required for start date
• Willingness to handle both clinical and procedural responsibilities

Compensation for this role is offered at a competitive hourly pay rate of $1.00, with breakdowns for regular hours, night call, and 24-hour coverage.
