Our client, a dynamic organization in the office and financial services sector, is seeking a Part Time Payroll Associate to join their team. As a Part Time Payroll Associate, you will be part of the payroll and accounting support team, contributing to accurate financial operations and customer service excellence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Part Time Payroll Associate
Location: Marquette, MI
Pay Range: $20 - $25 per Hour
Shift: Part Time, 20-25 Hours per Week. M/T 8AM-4PM, W/TH/F 8AM-1PM
What's the Job?
- Process accurate, timely multi‑state bi‑weekly payroll and maintain all payroll records.
- Handle payroll changes including new hires, terminations, benefits, and tax updates while ensuring confidentiality.
- Support payroll compliance, reporting, and period‑end close activities such as journal entries and reconciliations.
- Manage accounts receivable tasks including invoicing, payment posting, aging reviews, and resolving billing discrepancies.
- Provide customer and internal support on payroll, billing, and account inquiries, including audit documentation.
- Could include some light accounts receivable duties as well.
What's Needed?
- Minimum 2 years of payroll and accounting experience, including use of major payroll providers (ADP preferred).
- Experience with financial systems such as SAP or Oracle and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in payroll or accounting;
Bachelor's degree preferred. - Knowledge of employee benefits, tax regulations, and basic accounting principles.
- Strong accuracy, confidentiality, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
