Overview
The Real Estate Paralegal supports the legal team by reviewing title documents, handling daily legal inquiries, and evaluating real estate, trust, deed, and power-of-attorney documentation. This role requires strong analytical skills, real estate law experience, and the ability to manage tasks independently while collaborating closely with internal teams.
Responsibilities- Understands title and legal documentation including Title Insurance Commitments and Policies.
- Knowledge of various conveyancing documents including deeds and leasehold documents.
- Familiarity with Trust documents, Powers of Attorney.
- Ability to independently review title documents and produce written analysis.
- Ability to use various programs like MS Word, Outlook and Excel in preparation of documents and correspondence.
- Knowledge of New York Consolidation, Extension and Modification (CEMA) process a plus but not required.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Monitor the legal request mailbox and answer questions related to titles.
- Approve POAs (Power of Attorney), Estate Documents (Trusts), Deeds, and items on a Title Commitment.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or paralegal certificate from a recognized program.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Real Estate, Title or Foreclosure department of a law firm, title insurance company, or other legal environment.
- Experience in residential or commercial finance or mortgage banking is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication skills.
- Understanding of real estate, titles, trusts, deeds, and power of attorney.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Evesham, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.50 - $26.50/hr.
