Summary

The Vice President of Finance is responsible for the overall financial planning, reporting, accounting, and analysis of the organization. Will collaborate with other senior executives to drive the company’s strategic growth objectives, optimize financial performance, and maintain financial stability.

Job Duties and

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and implement financial plans that align with the company’s vision and strategic goals.
  • Drive financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions, identify key performance indicators, and monitor financial performance.
    • Collaborate with business unit mgmt. to improve the overall financial reporting processes.
  • Continually assess and improve internal controls and processes to mitigate financial risk.
  • Oversee the organization’s budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reports.
    • Lead external forecasting process, including compilation of scorecard forecast and inputting into standard GAAP format and review with executive management.
    • Lead warehouse reporting process, including preparation of monthly compliance certificates and coordination with banking partners.
    • Coordinate quarterly investor reporting and lead review meetings.
      • Preparation of Investor Presentation.
      • Tie out of financial statements and MD&A.
  • Lead rating agency presentations/meetings. Oversee the coordination of support materials to be presented.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, standards, and policies, including GAAP and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
  • Manage and lead a high‑performing finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective collaboration and development.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams, including executive leadership, investors, auditors, and legal counsel.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment where priorities change quickly and demands are high.
  • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative information and translate into strategic deliverables.
  • Advanced Excel skills (financial analyses/modeling).
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Quickbooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office (Word and PowerPoint).
  • Self‑motivated.
  • Comfortable executing with limited direction and shifting priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with demonstrated academic achievement. MBA or advanced Finance degree a plus.
  • 10‑15 years progressive experience in finance, accounting, and business management (Big‑4, Investment Banking, Consulting) with heavy emphasis on financial planning and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial leadership, strategy development, and implementation.
  • Prior Mortgage/Correspondent Lending experience a plus but not required.
  • Prior Mortgage Servicing and Origination experience a plus but not required.
Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
