* Summary:
** The
** Vice President, Divisional Merchandise Manager (DMM) – Seasonal Merchandise
** is a senior commercial leader responsible for shaping and executing the end-to-end seasonal merchandising strategy across high-impact categories including toys, outdoor living and seasonal décor. This role owns the full seasonal P&L and is accountable for driving profitable growth through disciplined assortment planning, pricing strategy, inventory management, and vendor partnerships while delivering compelling, differentiated seasonal experiences for BJ’s members. The VP-DMM builds and develops high-performing merchandising teams, establishes clear accountability, and strengthens the organization’s bench of future leaders.
Through strong vendor governance, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration, this role ensures seasonal programs are delivered with operational excellence, consistency, and integrity—driving member loyalty, brand relevance, and sustainable long-term value for the enterprise.
** Responsibilities:
*** Own and set the
** long-range merchandising vision and seasonal strategy
** for all assigned seasonal categories across all channels, aligned with corporate growth, margin, and member value objectives.
* Lead the development of
** category strategies**, including assortment architecture, pricing, promotions, and lifecycle management across all seasonal businesses.
* Serve as the
** P&L owner
** for the Seasonal Merchandise division, accountable for sales, profit and inventory turns; proactively identify risks and opportunities, implementing corrective actions to deliver or exceed financial plans.
* Drive margin improvement through
** strategic sourcing, cost negotiations, pricing discipline, and markdown optimization**.
* Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of
** Sr/Category Managers, Associate and Assistant Merchants;
** establish a culture with clear goals, high performance expectations, and strong accountability across the organization.
* Lead
** end-to-end seasonal assortment planning**, informed by strong data and insights and delivering member-centric, trend-right, and appropriately price-tiered product assortments
