Overview

We are hiring a full-time Unit Manager to join our dynamic care team at Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation & Health Care Center!

Shift is Monday-Friday with weekly pay.

Education

& Experience
  • Must possess an active and unencumbered LPN or RN license in Massachusetts.
  • Bachelor's in Nursing preferred; CPR certification required.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as a resource to staff in clinical and managerial decision making, delegate responsibilities to staff.
  • Assist in developing methods of coordination of nursing services with other resident care services to ensure the continuity of the resident’s total regimen of care.
  • Participate in inspections (surveys) made by authorized government agencies.
  • Participate in and assure appropriate assessment of residents, validate nursing staff’s clinical decisions.
  • Participate in development, implementation and communication of resident’s care plan.
  • Ensure that staff are implementing care plans, performing care activities appropriately, and recognizing changes in resident status.
  • Make frequent rounds on nursing unit(s) to ensure that all personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with established nursing standards, and that all resident needs are being met.
  • Monitor documentation procedures of nursing staff; audit assigned documentation daily to ensure that federal, state and facility requirements are met; follow up on problem areas with employees and report to the Director of Nursing.
  • Cooperate with interdepartmental personnel and other departments within the facility to assure that services are properly maintained to meet residents’ needs.
  • Recognize staffing needs within established patterns and facilitate appropriate staff assignments.
  • Meet with staff regularly to identify and correct problems and improve services.
  • Perform direct resident care as needed to meet resident needs.
  • Follow universal precautions and infection control policies and procedures when performing daily tasks.
  • Review complaints and grievances and report actions taken to resolve them to the Director of Nursing.
Specific Requirements
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills.
  • Must be familiar with drug actions and interactions.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
